About CDF

It's all about Utu wa Mtoto
Tanzania Child Rights NGO

CDF at a Glance!

Children’s Dignity Forum (CDF) is a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of children in Tanzania. Founded and registered in 2006 under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002, CDF’s mission is to safeguard children’s rights, empower vulnerable communities, and tackle harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriages. With its headquarters in Dar es Salaam and field offices in Tarime District (Mara Region) and Mpwapwa District (Dodoma Region), CDF reaches communities across the country to protect and empower children, especially girls.

Our programs are designed to promote education, health, and economic rights, aiming for a future in which every child can thrive, free from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices. We are committed to building a society where children’s voices are heard, their rights are respected, and they are empowered to contribute to the development of their communities.

We Eliminate Harmful Practices

We are passionate about creating a society where every child lives with dignity, free from harm, especially girls and young women. Our work focuses on eliminating harmful practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, teenage pregnancies, and other forms of child exploitation.

We Drive Changes

We empower children and young women to know, demand, and exercise their rights. Our approach strengthens child protection systems, enhances children’s participation, and engages men and boys to actively support gender equality. We collaborate to advance child rights in Tanzania.

Advocacy Through Networks

We are a secretariat of two national networks: Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network (TECMN) and MenEngage Tanzania Network (MET). We advocate to stop child marriage and champion reforms that directly benefit vulnerable children and young women.

Our Value

Gender Equality

We are committed to building equitable conditions that ensure all children, regardless of gender, have fair access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making spaces.
